My first Letterbox Trading Card. Its similier to Artist Trading Cards only with LTC's you must have at least one hand carved stamp image on it. I carved the sunflower. I had seen a few others from links to their blogs and I emailed a few people to ask for any advice and then just jumped in an made this one and listed it to trade as a single. I traded I think 25 of them in two days. It was a hit. So I got a bunch of cards back then to get a feel of what people do. Pretty much whatever you want. They were all so different. But I have to say mine are more elaborate. Such as my stamps might not be real detailed but my cards are. Some peoples carves are outstanding. But the cards are simple to show off the carve. So I just make whatever I want. The envelope I put it in to protect it for mailing was made from scrapbooking paper.
I joined my first swap in Dec. and am still waiting to get the cards. The host had a death in the family and delayed sending the cards back. The swap is like this, the host picks a theme, lists it, you can join, then make as many cards as participants, then mail the cards to the host, she sorts them, and then sends you back one of each card from all participants. The theme of my first swap is Doodlin' Around, we were supposed to make a card from a doodle we had done. I am a horrible doodler when im on the phone and its not pretty. So I named mine The Ugly Doodler. Haha. I will post about that one later with a picture.
Letterboxing is a big part of my free time so I expect there to be alot of it on this blog. :) Especially the next few days...im going to post about my cards ive made this Winter. With pics of course!
